Our Story - Why We Started and Where We're Going

Drake and Birdie Golf Co. is a small family-run company based in small-town Michigan, born from equal parts curiosity, passion, and a love for golf. After tossing around a dozen product ideas, we decided to step into the golf world in a meaningful way, starting with the youngest players on the course.

"Drake" is a way of incorporating our daughter, as it is her middle name. The “Birdie” in our name is more than a nod to the game. It’s a celebration of childhood milestones. Whether it’s a first swing, a giggle on the green, or a ball that rolls just a few feet toward the hole, every moment is a birdie in the making.

As our daughter approached three years old, we ran into a familiar challenge for toddler parents: finding a real, functional golf putter made for little hands. Most options were either plastic toys or adult putters, poorly cut down to size. Like many parents, we tried the DIY route. We ended up cutting down an old putter, wrapping it with layers of grip tape, throwing on a grip, and trying my hardest to balance with lead weights. However, the result was clunky, expensive for what it was, and left with a daughter still struggling to control the putter.

So we set out to fix it.

After months of tinkering, testing, and prototyping, we created a thoughtfully designed toddler putter that blends real golf performance with kid-friendly specs. They feature a milled stainless steel face, matte black shaft, junior grip, and a fun sherpa headcover, all priced at less than a box of golf balls.

This is just the beginning. We're currently working on a simple solution for a toddler golf bag and plan to release lightweight drivers and irons down the road. Our mission is to make high-quality, age-appropriate golf gear that helps young kids fall in love with the game. It's about making memories while not breaking the bank.

Thanks for being part of our journey. Feel free to reach out with questions, feedback, or just to share your little golfer’s first big putt. The hope is to bring more families together, create more memories, and have less screen time and more green time for our little ones.
