The Drake & Birdie Complete Toddler Golf Set Is Coming — Driver, Irons & More for Ages 2-5
There is one question every golf parent asks after buying the Drake & Birdie putter.
What about the rest of the clubs?
It is the most common message we receive. Parents who watch their 3-year-old putt confidently across a full practice session, with a real putter, a real stand bag, a real leather glove, and who immediately start thinking about what comes next. A driver. An iron. A complete set that works the same way the putter does: purpose-built for the 30 to 45-inch height range, not scaled down from adult equipment or scaled up from toy equipment, but engineered specifically for this age and this size.
We heard you. We have been working on it. And this summer, we are ready.
The Drake & Birdie Complete Toddler Golf Set: driver, 7-iron, and 9-iron is coming in Summer 2026. This is the full story of what we are building, why every spec was a deliberate decision, and how to get early access when pre-orders open.
How We Got Here: Putter First, Then the Bag, Now the Clubs
Drake & Birdie started with a single observation: the toddler golf market was broken.
Everything available for children ages 2 to 5 was either a plastic toy that bore no resemblance to real golf equipment, or a standard junior club sized for a 6 or 7-year-old that was simply too long, too heavy, and too unwieldy for a child who had not yet started kindergarten. There was no middle ground. There was no product designed honestly and specifically for the 30 to 45-inch golfer.
So we started with the putter. The putter is the one club every toddler can use immediately, no full swing required, immediate positive feedback, quick to learn, and endlessly satisfying when a ball drops. We engineered a 21.5-inch stainless steel putter with a junior pistol grip and a magnetic Sherpa headcover, built to the same standards as real golf equipment, scaled to the right size. Parents started buying it. Their kids loved it.
Then came the same question we had ourselves: where does the putter go? Every bag we found was either a toy bag that fell apart in a season, or a junior bag sized for a child twice the age of our target customer. So we built the bag. 24 inches tall, 2.1 pounds, auto-deploy stand, padded dual straps, 5-way divided top, rain hood. The lightest stand bag in the toddler category, purpose-built for the same 30 to 45-inch range as the putter.
Then the glove. Then the first golf-specific XS leather glove for children ages 2 to 5 was built.
At every step, the question we asked was the same: what does this child actually need from this piece of equipment to have a real, successful, confidence-building golf experience? Not a toy experience. Not a junior experience scaled down awkwardly. A toddler experience, built from scratch for toddlers.
The clubs are the final piece of that answer. If you're starting from scratch, our complete toddler putter guide and toddler golf bag guide cover everything you need to know before the clubs arrive.

The Gap Nobody Has Filled: Until Now
Junior golf equipment generally begins at age 6 or 7, clubs sized for children 45 inches and taller, typically 27 to 30 inches in length, with grips sized for hands that are significantly larger than a 3-year-old's. Below that, the market has historically offered plastic toy sets that bear no resemblance to real golf equipment in weight, feel, or function.
The gap between toy and junior is the entire toddler age range. Ages 2 through 5. Heights 30 through 45 inches. The window when children are most developmentally receptive to forming motor patterns, building habits, and developing a genuine love for a sport they will play for the rest of their lives.
While there are some options in the market for young children, ranging from canvas carry bags to complete starter sets, very few have been engineered specifically with the 30 to 45-inch height range as the primary design constraint. That specificity matters. A club that is slightly too long or slightly too heavy for a 3-year-old is not just uncomfortable; it produces failure, frustration, and disengagement. The window to build a love of golf in a toddler is narrower than most parents realize.
The Drake & Birdie Complete Set is designed around that constraint from the ground up. Every length, every weight target, every grip choice starts from the question: what serves a 30 to 45-inch golfer best?
What We Are Building: Club by Club
Samples are currently in testing. Here is where each club stands and the thinking behind every spec decision.
The Toddler Driver: 27 Inches (Working Sample)
The driver is the club that produces the most immediate excitement in a young golfer. Nothing creates the enthusiasm of a well-struck tee shot, even at 20 yards. The challenge in designing a toddler driver is weight distribution. A head too heavy relative to shaft length makes the club uncontrollable for small hands, while a head too light produces no satisfying feedback on contact.
Our working sample is 27 inches, fitted with an XS junior grip sized for hands under 6 inches. We are actively testing head weight and shaft flex to find the combination that produces consistent, rewarding contact for a 2 to 5-year-old. Final specs will be confirmed before launch.
The driver will be available as a standalone club for families who already have the putter and bag and want to add a tee shot club, as well as part of the complete set.
The Toddler 7 Iron: 25 Inches (Working Sample)
The 7 iron is the learning iron, with enough loft to get the ball airborne with a partial swing, enough length to produce satisfying distance without requiring perfect contact. Our working sample sits at 25 inches, two inches shorter than the driver, maintaining the proportional length relationships of a real matched set.
The 7 iron is where most toddlers will develop their core swing pattern. Getting the weight and length right at this stage matters more than it does at any other point in a player's development — the habits formed here tend to persist.
The Toddler 9 Iron: 24 Inches (Working Sample)
The 9-iron rounds out the set as the approach and short game club. At 24 inches, one inch shorter than the 7 iron, it matches the proportional gap of a real set while staying within the manageable range for a 30 to 45-inch golfer. Higher loft means more margin for error and more consistent airborne contact for children still developing the swing.
Together, the three clubs, a 27-inch driver, a 25-inch 7 iron, and a 24-inch 9 iron, paired with the existing 21.5-inch putter, form a complete matched set with consistent proportional length relationships across the full bag.
All three new clubs use the same XS junior grip as the putter, ensuring a consistent feel across the entire set.

How to Size the Complete Set
The same principle that governs every Drake & Birdie product applies to the complete set size by height, not age. Two 4-year-olds at different heights need different equipment. Two children of different ages at the same height need the same equipment.
The working sample lengths: 27-inch driver, 25-inch 7 iron, 24-inch 9 iron are designed to fit the full 30 to 45-inch height range as a single matched set. This is intentional. The same progressive length relationship that defines adult club sets applies here, producing a consistent feel across the entire set for a child at any height in the toddler range.
For children approaching 45 inches at age 5, these clubs will carry them into their first real junior rounds. When they outgrow this set, typically around 45 to 48 inches, they are ready for standard junior clubs, which is exactly where the junior golf market begins. Drake & Birdie get them there with proper fundamentals in place.

Will the new clubs work with the existing Drake & Birdie putter and bag?
Yes — the complete set is designed as a matched system. The driver, irons, and putter all use XS junior grips with a consistent feel across the set. The 24-inch stand bag has a 5-way divided top that holds all four clubs comfortably.
Will left-handed options be available?
Left-handed options are on our product roadmap. Join the waitlist and note your interest — demand for left-handed configurations directly influences our timeline for that variant.
When will the complete set be available?
We are targeting Summer 2026. Samples are currently in testing, and final specs are being confirmed. Join the waitlist below to be notified the moment pre-orders open.
Can I buy just the driver without the full set?
Yes — the driver will be available as a standalone purchase for families who already have the putter and bag. The 7 iron and 9 iron will be available as part of the complete club set.
Is this the only toddler golf club set for ages 2 to 5?
There are other options for young children in the market, ranging from complete starter sets to individual clubs. What makes Drake & Birdie different is the specific engineering constraint: every spec decision starts from the 30 to 45-inch height range. The length progression, the grip size, the weight targets all designed specifically for this window, not adapted from equipment for older children.
