Drake & Birdie Complete Toddler Golf Club Set — Driver, 7-Iron & Putter | Ages 2–5
The First Real Complete Golf Club Set Built Exclusively for Toddlers Ages 2–5
Every parent who has tried to find a real, complete golf club set for a toddler has hit the same wall: the options start at age 5 or 6 at the smallest, the clubs are too long, too heavy, or made of plastic, and nothing is engineered for the way a 2, 3, or 4-year-old actually swings.
The Drake & Birdie Complete Club Set fixes that. Launching August 2026, it is the first complete toddler golf club set engineered from the ground up exclusively for ages 2–5 — real lightweight club heads, correct shaft lengths, proper junior grips, and the same quality standard as every other Drake & Birdie product. Not a toy. Not a scaled-down adult set. Real golf clubs for real toddler golfers.

Why Drake & Birdie Built This Set
When we launched Drake & Birdie in 2025 with the 21.5" putter, the most common question from parents was immediate: when are you making a full set?
The honest answer was: when we can do it right.
Building a complete toddler golf club set that genuinely works — that a 3-year-old can swing, make contact with, and actually want to use again — requires solving engineering problems that most manufacturers simply skip. The driver shaft needs to be flexible enough for a toddler's swing speed but not so whippy that it's uncontrollable. The oversized head needs to be lightweight enough that a small child can swing it without fatigue, but large enough to give the forgiveness their mechanics require. The 7-iron sole needs to be wide enough that a shallow angle of attack — the natural swing path for a toddler — produces consistent turf interaction rather than a bounce.
These are not problems you solve by cutting down an adult club or scaling a junior set designed for a 7-year-old. They require starting from scratch with a 2-to 5-year-old in mind from the first specification.
That is what this set is.
How the Drake & Birdie Club Set Compares
Every major junior golf set on the market in 2026 — Callaway XJ-1, US Kids Golf UL39, Orlimar ATS — starts at 42–47 inches tall. That means a 3-year-old at 38 inches has no real option from any major brand. A 2-year-old at 34 inches has nothing.
The Drake & Birdie Complete Club Set covers 30–45 inches — the full ages 2–5 range — with club lengths engineered for that specific height range rather than adapted from a larger size.
| Brand | Min Height | Ages Covered | Clubs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drake & Birdie | 30 inches | 2–5 years | Driver, 7-Iron, Putter |
| Callaway XJ-1 | 42 inches | ~4–5 years (taller) | Fairway Wood, 7-Iron, Sand Wedge, Putter |
| US Kids Golf UL39 | 39 inches | ~3.5–5 years (taller) | 5-piece set |
| Orlimar ATS | 44 inches | ~4–5 years (taller) | Driver, 7-Iron, Wedge, Putter |
| Toy sets | Any | Any | Plastic — not real golf equipment |
The Club Design — Why Each Decision Was Made
The Driver — 26.5 inches, 14° loft, lightweight oversized head: Most toddler swing speeds are between 15–25 mph — a fraction of an adult's 95–110 mph. Standard junior driver lofts of 10–12 degrees produce almost no launch at these speeds. At 14 degrees, the ball gets airborne on a toddler's natural swing without requiring a perfectly descending strike. The oversized head increases the moment of inertia — the technical term for forgiveness — so off-center contact still produces a reasonable result rather than a complete miss. At 26.5 inches, it sits within reach of a child 30–45 inches tall without requiring a compensating posture.
The 7-Iron — 25 inches, cavity back, wide sole: The 7-iron is the most versatile club in any junior set because it works from the tee, the fairway, and around the green. The wide sole is critical for toddlers — their natural swing plane is shallow and flat, which means the leading edge of a standard iron digs into the turf rather than gliding through it. The wide-sole design prevents this and ensures consistent contact regardless of the exact angle of attack. At 25 inches, it is the correct length for 30–45-inch-tall children with natural posture.
The Putter — 21.5 inches, milled stainless steel: The same putter as the standalone Drake & Birdie model. Milled face, real grip, correct lie angle. If your toddler already has the Drake & Birdie putter — this is the exact same club in the complete set. Consistent, proven, the right length for the full ages 2–5 range.

What age is the Drake & Birdie Complete Club Set designed for?
The set is designed for ages 2–5 (30–45 inches tall) — the youngest age range in the market. Every club length is engineered specifically for this height range. It is the only complete golf club set in the world built exclusively for toddlers ages 2–5.
Why a driver, 7-iron, and putter specifically?
These three clubs cover every situation a toddler encounters on a golf course — the tee shot (driver), the fairway shot (7-iron), and the green (putter). For a toddler golfer ages 2–5 this is the complete toolkit. Additional clubs add weight and complexity without meaningful benefit at this skill and development level.
How does this compare to Callaway XJ-1 or US Kids Golf sets?
The Callaway XJ-1 starts at 42–46 inches tall — too large for most children under 4. US Kids Golf UL39 starts at 39 inches. The Drake & Birdie set covers 30–45 inches — meaning a 2-year-old at 34 inches has a real option where no major brand currently offers one.
Can the clubs be used with the Drake & Birdie stand bag?
Yes — all three clubs fit perfectly in the Drake & Birdie 24" Toddler Stand Bag's 5-way divided top. The set and bag were designed together as a complete system.
Is this real golf equipment or a toy?
Real golf equipment. Real club heads, real shafts, real grips — engineered for toddler specifications from the ground up. Not plastic. Not a toy set.
What is the driver loft and why 14 degrees?
14 degrees is higher than a standard junior driver loft (10–12 degrees) because toddler swing speeds are significantly lower than older junior golfers. Higher loft produces launch at low swing speeds — a 14 degree driver gets a toddler's shot airborne where a lower-loft driver would not.
